Mogadiscio, 3rd of September 2018 – A delegation of European Union Training Mission Somalia (EUTM-S) today have payed a visit to Gen. Dahir Adan Elmi, the new Somali Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) in “Villa Gashandiga” HQ.
The EUTM-S Mission Force Commander, BG Matteo SPREAFICO, accompanied by Col. SANTORO, Advisor Team Head and Col. GUERRERO, Training Team Head were welcomed from the CDF and from the SNA BG Mohamed Ali Mohamud “Buhow”. This was the first meeting between the two Commanders since the assignment of Gen. Elmi as CDF.
BG SPREAFICO, assisted by his staff, brief on the mission of the EUTM S alongside 3 main pillars of advising, mentoring and training, covering goals achieved, current situation and future challenges of EUTM-S to support SNA to build not only the “Army” but even their capability to “built an Army by themselves”.
The CDF, thanking the dedicated effort of all personnel of the Mission, fully agreed on the paramount need of a confident cooperation between the Somali government, EU, EUTM-S and all the international Community.
