EUTM held the closing ceremony of the 3rd Reconnaissance and 4th Combat Engineer Courses. Twenty-nine students, all from the Somali National Army (SNA), were awarded at the presence of the Ambassador of the European Union Delegation to Somalia, Ms. Karin Johansson, the European Union Training Mission in Somalia (EUTM-S) Force Commander, Brigadier General Fulvio Poli, the Commander of the SNA GDTC, Brigadier General Mohamed Mohamud Saney, the Commander of the 14th October Brigade, Col. Nuur Farey Gabow, the Commander of the 23rd Military Police Brigade, Major Adan Jelle Ali, the Head of SNA Training Department, Col. Essa Ahmed Wehliye. After the awarding ceremony, Ms. Johansson and BGen Poli commended the 4 best students with special certificates of excellence. Well done guys!
The completed courses were organized by EUTM-S upon specific request of the General Staff of the Somali Armed Forces, to train selected troops in specific subjects. The presence of Ambassador Karin Johansson emphasizes the European Union’s constant commitment to delivering its support to the Somali Security Sector Reform.
